From the “what and why” of schools to the way we schedule, hire, and build curriculum, teaching and learning is often stuck in the past. With decades of experience working in public and private schools around the world, we have seen what makes some learning environments successful and ready to meet the challenges of the 21st century while so many more go through the motions of doing things because “that’s the way they’ve always been done.”
We want to re-envision education for our students, our teachers, and our communities to be able to meet the many new challenges and needs that we face in an increasingly complex and uncertain world. We want to reshape school to focus on helping students learn ways to be – and to be successful – in the world today as they prepare for their own future. And we want to help get all the other ‘stuff’ out of the way.
